This deluxe package offers a comprehensive Tanzania experience, covering the country’s top three parks. Begin your journey in Tarangire, home to the famous tree-climbing lions, then continue to Serengeti for the awe-inspiring Migration or Calving (depending on travel time from January to March), and conclude with a visit to the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera.
Begin your safari with a game drive in Tarangire National Park, a small yet vibrant park known for its excellent game viewing. During the dry season, Tarangire thrives as animals and birds gather around the Tarangire River, the park’s year-round water source. After the drive, spend the night in a lodge set within the park, offering breathtaking views. In the late afternoon, we travel a short distance to our unique lodge for the night.
We rise early for an exciting day in Serengeti, guided to the best spots for game viewing depending on the season. We can visit the Hippo Pool, where hippos relax alongside crocodiles, observe a pride of lions, and possibly find ourselves in the midst of the wildebeest migration, with zebras joining in. From the plains to the kopjes—rocky outcrops that provide shelter for wildlife—we enjoy panoramic views of Serengeti’s vast grasslands. This diverse landscape is perfect for spotting elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and, if we’re fortunate, elusive leopards and cheetahs. We also spot a variety of bird species, including secretary birds and ostriches.
The day is spent exploring various locations, such as the Hippo Pool. As we explore from the plains to the kopjes, we have the opportunity to see an array of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and more.
We descend 2,000 feet (600 meters) to the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater for a unique tour. Explore the forested areas home to monkeys and elephants, visit the lake area with its flamingos, and observe the open savannah where lions hunt.
This park, with its shallow alkaline lake, lies along the Rift Valley Escarpment. Lake Manyara attracts vast flocks of flamingos and offers sightings of elephants, buffaloes, hippos, Maasai giraffes, and boisterous baboons and monkeys. Known for its tree-climbing lions, a rare sight, Lake Manyara offers incredible wildlife experiences. In the afternoon, you’ll be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for departure.
